When an Enterprise Agreement (EA) is about to be signed it is important to know all facts concerning your organisation's actual needs - not just what is already installed. Number of installations rarely gives you information about usage, and decisions made from that kind of information often lead to a rising number of bought licenses, installed applications and escalating costs.

 Example Company X investigated actual usage of Microsoft Project licenses in their organisation. When they checked the data it showed that only 11% of the Microsoft Project installations was used. The company therefor had invested about 200 000 £ on licenses without an actual need for.
The company also had a large license suprlus for the software Toad from Quest Software. The inventoried information showed unused licenses for close to 120 000 £. |
