A challenge to handle inventoried data Most inventory solutions are delivered with a database that contains definitions to identify software. Because of the ever increasing amount of applications in an IT environment the work to update and maintain the definitions soon becomes both time and resource consuming.
To further complicate the matter software manufacturers often does not use a standard when naming and tagging their software.
In practice this manifests itself in that two versions of the same software can use completely tags or that two exe-files with the same name belongs to two entirely different applications.
What is included? The applications are identified with for example manufacturer, name, version, language, application family (in order to automate up and downgrades) and application type according to the UNSPSC standard.
- From the time at least half of your computers has reported to the database, Snow’s software identification will be complete within 30 days.

- Complete freedom for you to manage specific applications according to your own need, for example custom developed applications.
